Funky Banjoko is a trailblazing Nigerian-Canadian leader who made history in 2021 as the first Black woman elected to the council of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) in Alberta, Canada. Her election marked a significant milestone in the region's political landscape, reflecting its growing diversity and inclusivity.

With over 30 years of experience in supply chain management, primarily within the oil and gas industry, Banjoko has established herself as a seasoned professional. She holds a Bachelor's degree and is a certified Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) in the UK, as well as a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) in Canada. Her career has been marked by a dedication to excellence and a focus on strategic resource management. ​
